ABC 031215 KathyGriffin? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1426210579188ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — All of a sudden, it’s become unfashionable to star on Fashion Police.

Two weeks after Kelly Osbourne announced she was leaving Fashion Police, Kathy Griffin on Thursday posted a lengthy statement on social media saying she too is saying goodbye to the E! program.

Griffin, who was named a replacement for the late Joan Rivers in early December, wrote that she was thrilled to continue Rivers’ legacy “as a woman being brash and eccentric on television.”

She said, “I thought that I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate. My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT.”

She said she wants to help “women, gay kids, people of color and anyone who feels unrepresented to have a voice and a LAUGH,” then revealed that she is leaving Fashion Police after seven episodes. She explained, “I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show & now it’s time to move on.”

E! has released the following statement: “We can confirm that Kathy Griffin is leaving E!’s Fashion Police. We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all.”

The cable network added that Fashion Police will return March 30 with remaining hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski.

In late February, E! announced that Osbourne was exiting Fashion Police to “pursue other opportunities.” Her departure came after she publicly objected to a joke made by Rancic about Zendaya on a post-Oscars episode of the show. Rancic said the Disney star’s dreadlocked hair on the Oscars red carpet looked like they smelled like “patchouli oil” or “weed.”

Rancic later issued an apology, which Osbourne acknowledged on Twitter.
