Navy Sailor Killed in California Parachute Accident

Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Michelle Turner(CORONADO, Calif.) — A U.S. Navy sailor was killed in a parachute accident in California on Wednesday, the Navy Special Warfare Group ONE says.
According to a statement, the victim was a U.S. Navy sailor assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. During a parachute jump training exercise on Wednesday, the sailor was injured and later died from those injuries.
The training exercise had taken place in Perris, California.
The Navy said it would identify the sailor at a later date, pending notification of next of kin.
