The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the session on Tuesday at 18,011.14, down 104.90 from its open.

The Nasdaq fell by 16.25 to close at 4,994.73. The S&P 500 was also down by 12.92 points to close at 2,091.50.

Crude oil settled up 6 cents on Tuesday at $47.51 a barrel, while the U.S. dollar edged slightly higher against major world currencies. Analysts say those two things could make the Federal Reserve re-think its decision not to raise interest rates for now.

The gender gap’s alive and well in most workplaces, even in nursing, an occupation dominated by women.  A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association says female registered nurses earn an average of $5,000 a year less than their male colleagues.
