According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department, detectives arrested Dominique Johnson, 19, Wednesday morning in connection with the stabbing. Johnson has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Earlier this month, police arrested Jamyra Gallmon, 21. Gallmon was charged with first-degree felony murder while armed.

Messerschmitt had sent his wife a text message the day before his body was discovered, February 9, saying he would be home shortly. When he didn’t return, his wife filed a missing persons report.

In late March, Messerschmitt’s wife asked the public for help finding her husband’s alleged killer, saying that she had “lost the most important person in my life and the man I loved so much.”
