Tom Brady to Appear in New York Court over Deflategate Suspension
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady is taking his “Deflategate” fight to a New York court Wednesday.
A federal judge will try to broker some kind of deal between the NFL and Tom Brady, who is fighting a four-game suspension over deflated footballs.
The judge pushed each side “to engage in further good faith settlement efforts,” but it appears they’re far apart.
The NFL upheld the suspension and argued it had the power to impose it.
The players union wants it vacated and has argued the punishment was unfair and inconsistent.
Both sides do agree the matter should be settled by Sept. 4, when the Patriots must prepare for their first regular season game with, or without, Tom Brady.
