Franz Gruber's classic 1818 composition "Silent Night" has been repeatedly rearranged and performed.

Reiterating the song's underlying theme that hope and light can always be found, The Piano Guys collaborated with several renowned musicians, including Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo and children from the Cathedral School Choristers of The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine.

The large musical group performed in the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City. A video of the performance was released Monday.

"Sometimes it seems there is little in this world today that is silent, holy, calm or bright," The Piano Guys wrote below the video. "However noisy, unholy, frenetic or dark it may appear to be, music such as the immortal hymn “Silent Night” carries with it a feeling that can remind us there is still an abundance of virtue all around us. There is hope and beauty. And there is light."

The Piano Guys create music videos "to make a positive impact in the lives of people all over the world," according to their YouTube channel.

Their YouTube channel has garnered more than 781 million views since 2008.
