IDAHO FALLS — Riverbend Communications is launching a new radio station called “Sunny AM 1260/690.”

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 1, the station will broadcast “the Sounds Of Sunday all week.” Music will range from LDS songs to contemporary Christian favorites.

“The Sounds Of Sunday has been a beloved radio feature for over thirty years,” Riverbend Communications General Manager Bill Fuerst said. “We’re building on that legacy by making the Sounds Of Sunday a permanent fixture so listeners in East Idaho can tune in every day of the week.”

The Oct. 1 launch coincides with the 186th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The station will air the morning and afternoon sessions live on both Saturday and Sunday.

“If you’ve ever thought every day should be like Sunday, this is your station,” Riverbend Communications Operations Manager Mike Nelson said. “You’ll hear the best of Hilary Weeks, Michael W. Smith, Cherie Call, Kenneth Cope, Amy Grant, Paul Cardall, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and more.”

The station replaces the current Newstalk format on KEIR-AM/ KEII-AM.

“Sunny AM” will continue to air the Dave Ramsey show live each weekday from noon to 3:00 p.m. The show features talk about life and money from one of the nation’s top radio show hosts.

Other Riverbend Communications stations include KLCE 97, Z103, 105.5/ 105.9 The Hawk, and Kbear 101.
