IDAHO FALLS — The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that local investigators have traveled to Nye County, Nevada, to collect potential evidence in the investigation of the murder of Christin Caldwell.

Jeremy White and Deena Aday were arrested Friday following a traffic stop in Nye County.

White was arrested on murder charges. Aday was arrested for being an accessory to a felony.

Nye County court clerks expect a court hearing for both White and Aday will be scheduled either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Bonneville County Prosecutor Danny Clark tells EastIdahoNews.com White and Aday will be extradited back to Idaho in one of two ways — either Idaho proves through fingerprints and photographs the identity of both, or the defendants waive extradition hearings.

“At this point the defendants will be brought before a court in Nevada on the charges,” Clark told EastIdahoNews.com “If they waive extradition they will be brought back as soon as the sheriff’s office arranges the transport. If they fight extradition, which they have the right to do, we would have to prove to Nevada that they are who we believe they are.”

Clark said if White and Aday fight extradition, Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter would have to request Nevada’s Gov. Brian Sandoval to release them to the custody of Idaho law enforcement.

Once the two are back in Idaho, both will immediately appear before a magistrate judge in Bonneville County for arraignment on their charges. A preliminary hearing would be scheduled for two weeks after.

White is currently held in the Nye County Jail on a $600,000 bond. Aday is being held on a $200,000 bond.

“We are pleased to hear of the arrests and are thankful for the efforts of local and Nevada enforcement,” Clark told EastIdahoNews.com. “We look forward to moving forward in this case.”
