Law enforcement respond to more than 150 traffic incidents this weekend

IDAHO FALLS — Law enforcement in Bonneville County responded to more than 150 traffic incidents in and around Idaho Falls this weekend.

Parts of Bonneville County received 17 to 18 inches of snow on Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Pocatello. A blizzard and winter storm warnings were in effect for most of eastern Idaho on Friday and Saturday morning.

The Idaho Falls Police Department reports that inside the city and county, law enforcement responded to 110 non-injury accidents — 84 of which occurred on Friday, according to an IFPD news release.

They also responded to nine hit-and-run crashes, 23 motor assists and 15 injury accidents.

Information on whether any of the injury accidents resulted in hospitalization was unavailable Sunday.

Additionally, the street department began plowing Zone A of Idaho Falls Sunday. The police department towed 92 vehicles that were parked on the side of the road inhibiting snow removal.

On Monday, all east and west streets in Zone A will be plowed. No one can park on the street from 8 am to 5 pm.
