POCATELLO — Two brothers are sitting in Bannock County Jail on murder charges after a badly injured man was found behind a bar near Old Town Pocatello.

Authorities said 23-year-old Anthony and 25-year-old Gabriel Moreno, both of Pocatello, were both arrested on homicide charges Saturday morning after police on foot patrol came across a badly injured man in the alley behind the Center Street Clubhouse on Center Street.

The victim was identified as Nathan Tad Richardson, age 30.

Authorities said Pocatello police were on foot patrol around 2 a.m. Saturday when they came across the crime scene with the victim on the ground and two individuals walking away. Police took the two individuals into custody, but it’s unclear if they were the Moreno brothers or if the brothers were apprehended later.

The brothers were charged with second-degree murder for the homicide.

Officers began administering CPR at the scene, until Pocatello Fire & Ambulance arrived and administered additional life saving measures. Authorities said the victim was transported via ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Bannock County Coroner’s Office said it appears that the victim died in a physical altercation, but until an autopsy is done it won’t be known exactly what killed him.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information pertaining to the incident should contact the Pocatello Police Investigation Division at (208) 234-6121 during regular business hours.
