Cows fall from Utah overpass onto I-15 after semitrailer rollover
Published at | Updated atRIVER DALE, Utah — I-15 southbound is closed at 31st Street, as well as two lanes of I-84 eastbound and an onramp to I-15 near Riverdale, after a cattle truck rolled on the overpass, spilling cows onto the freeway below.
KSL.com reports the crash, which was reported around noon, wasn’t expected to be cleared until around 2:30 p.m., according to UDOT’s website. Traffic was being diverted off I-15 at 31st Street.
Images from KSL Chopper 5 showed a semitruck tipped over on the I-84 overpass, as well as a dozen cows on the freeway below. Some of the cattle appeared to be dead and other cows were corralled by crews on scene.
No details of what caused the crash were immediately released.

A similar accident occurred in January 2016 when a truck hauling cattle tipped over on the same ramp while trying to get on I-84 from I-15.
