‘Talking to Your Kids When the World Gets Scary’ meeting being held Wednesday night

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls School District 91 and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center are holding a free seminar Wednesday night called “Talking to Your Kids When the World Gets Scary.”

Experts will provide tips and strategies on how parents can talk to children about traumatic events such as terrorist attacks, mass shootings and tragic loss.

The keynote speaker is Richard Palmer, a licensed professional counselor with the Behavioral Health Center. D91’s counselors will also highlight the district’s Crisis Team, which provides support for students and staff in times of traumatic loss.

The seminar will be held from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Taylorview Middle School auditorium at 350 Castlerock Lane in Idaho Falls.
