ISLAND PARK — An Island Park man was hit and killed by a car as he left a parking lot on a snowmobile Sunday night.

Adam Figueroa, 27, was driving a 2005 Polaris snowmobile around 8 p.m. when he pulled onto US 20 at milepost 383 in Island Park, according to an Idaho State Police news release.

Jacob Logan, 27, of Guilford, Vermont, was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy westbound on the highway when investigators say Figueroa pulled out of the parking lot and was struck by Logan’s vehicle.

Figueroa died at the scene. Logan was wearing a seatbelt and did not need to be taken to the hospital, according to ISP.

Both westbound and eastbound lanes were closed for hours as ISP, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont County EMS and the Fremont County Fire Department responded to the scene.
