IDAHO FALLS — Riverbend Communications won big at the recent Best in Broadcasting award banquet hosted by the Idaho State Broadcasters Association.

The Idaho Falls-based radio group brought home a number of awards for its stations.

Of all the stations, rock station KBear 101 received the most honors. The station won in the best morning radio show category for “The Viktor Wilt Show.” It also won the best talk show category for “Traffic School with Viktor Wilt and Sgt. Marvin Crain.” Kbear’s Phyllis was also a runner-up in the best radio personality category.

“It has been an amazing year of successes for KBear 101. We’re currently celebrating our 20th year on the airwaves, with the best ratings in the history of the station, so to top things off with multiple state awards is the icing on the cake! I couldn’t be more grateful for our world-class staff, and the enthusiastic support of our management and listeners,” KBear Program Director Viktor Wilt said. “Without the KBear 101 Rock Army there’s no way we could accomplish the kind of things we have in 2019!”

In addition to KBear’s awards, Classy 97 brought home an award for the best radio commercial for its “Idaho Falls Food Express, Convenience” spot.

Z103 won the best station promotion award for its “Haunted Bus Promotion.”

Cannonball 101 was a runner-up in the best station promotion category.

“We’re proud of our award-winning staff and the role they play in entertaining and informing our community,” Riverbend Communications General Manager Bill Fuerst said. “Every year, our staff brings home awards that prove our products are among the best in the state. I am honored to work with a group of such talented performers.”
