Chef Jeff makes his signature buffalo sauce with home-baked chicken wings

Today Chef Jeff is in the East Idaho News kitchen making home-baked chicken wings covered with his signature buffalo hot sauce. They make any game day great!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chicken wings
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 450. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Set a wire rack inside and coat with non-stick spray.
  • Place the chicken wings on a layer of paper towels and thoroughly dry the wings.
  • Add the dry wings, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to a mixing bowl and toss to combine. Place the seasoned wings, evenly spaced, on the wire rack and place in the oven.
  • Bake the wings for 20 minutes then flip them over and bake another 15 minutes. Flip the wings again and bake another 15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  • Remove from the oven and toss immediately in favorite wing sauce. Serve warm.

Chef Jeff’s Buffalo Wing Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz bottle Frank’s or favorite hot sauce.
  • ¼ c. dark brown sugar
  • ¼ c. butter
  • 1 tbsp. garlic
  • 1 tbsp. oil

Directions

  • In a pot over medium heat, put in oil and garlic and cook until garlic starts to brown.
  • Add the hot sauce and brown sugar. Once the sauce starts to simmer, add the butter and stir until it completely melts. Remove from heat and toss on wings.
