Insurance company doubling donations at Pocatello Salvation Army collection points

POCATELLO — Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance is in the giving spirit this holiday season.
Now through Christmas, the Farm Bureau is paying its employees to use their time away from the office as bell-ringers for the Salvation Army. Volunteers are something the Salvation Army has a shortage of this season, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to helping fill the need for volunteers, the insurance company is matching donations received by their employees.
“We offered the ability for our employees to go be bell-ringers and volunteer some of their time off,” company spokeswoman LeAnn Nelson told EastIdahoNews.com. “We’ll match the donations up to them in $100 per bucket.”
The Farm Bureau will match only those donations made at a collection point with one of their employees. Those kettles, Nelson said, will be marked with a Farm Bureau sign.
