ITD to begin road maintenance on 5 east Idaho highways

IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Transportation Department will begin crack sealing five eastern Idaho highways Monday as part of annual road maintenance operations.

The much-needed maintenance helps preserve the roadways, and prevent erosion, according to an ITD news release.

The following highway will see construction crews throughout March and April:

  • U.S. Highway 20
  • Idaho Highway 28
  • Idaho Highway 31
  • Idaho Highway 33
  • Idaho Highway 47

The construction will mean temporary single-lane closures that will include a flagger and reduced speed limits. ITD officials say motorists should anticipate and watch for reduced speeds, flaggers and crews working. Traffic control will be set up to ensure minimal impacts to the traveling public, according to the release.

The projects will be completed by the end of April. Visit 511.Idaho.gov for current road updates.
