A Feel Good Friday surprise on the playground for Idaho’s Distinguished Principal of the year

Ben Lemons is one of the most beloved principals in eastern Idaho. He has been leading the students and teachers at Riverview Elementary School in Shelley since the school opened 11 years ago. Just a few days ago, the Idaho Association of Administrators named Mr. Lemons the 2021 Idaho Distinguished Principal. He will now represent Idaho at the national level in Washington DC later this year.
There are 350 students at Riverview and Mr. Lemons takes time to memorize all their names before the school year begins. He makes sure he’s at recess and in the lunchroom every day so he can get to know his students.
We surprised Mr. Lemons this week for Feel Good Friday and could instantly see why those he works with every day love him. Check out the video above!
