ORIGINAL STORY:

AMMON — Authorities are looking for an 11-year-old girl who disappeared Friday morning while walking to school.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bryan Lovell says Maryiah Fuentes left her house on Blaze Drive near Iona Road and Ammon Road around 7:15 a.m. Maryiah was walking to Discovery Elementary, but school officials say she did not show up.

After the school called Maryiah’s parents about her being absent, they called 911, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies are searching the area around Blaze Drive and checking with friends and relatives. An AlertSense emergency message was sent in a 3-mile radius of Maryiah’s last known location.

Maryiah is approximately 4’8” tall and 90 lbs, wears pink glasses, has shoulder-length brown hair with pigtails, dark skin, and hazel eyes. Maryiah might be wearing a pink and tan puffy coat, black leggings, white shoes and a blue backpack.

Anyone with information, or who may have seen Maryiah walking in the area between Blaze Drive and Discovery Elementary is asked to call dispatch at (208) 529-1200 immediately to speak with a deputy.
