UPDATE: Item found in Goodwill donations not an explosive

UPDATE:

Idaho Falls Police Department spokeswoman Jessica Clements says officers and a member of the bomb squad determined a suspicious item found at Goodwill was not an explosive.

Employees were going through donations at the store and found the item that raised concerns. The store called the police and as a precaution, employees and customers were evacuated for less than 30 minutes.

Friday’s call is not the first time people have called for suspicious items that turn out to not be an explosive. However, police prefer people have officers make sure if they are not sure themselves.

“Just call,” Clements said. “We would rather err on the side of caution.”
