Co-founder of the famous Georgetown Cupcake, star of ‘DC Cupcakes’ answers 7 Questions
Published atEvery week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.
Sophie LaMontagne and her sister Katherine Berman founded Georgetown Cupcake in Washington DC in 2008. Their delicious gourmet cupcakes are known around the world and they starred in ‘Cupcake Cam LIVE’ and ‘DC Cupcakes’ on TLC.
The sisters are the best-selling authors of ‘The Cupcake Diaries’ and ‘Sweet Celebrations.’ They make millions of cupcakes a year and I was able to visit their original bakery in the nation’s capital where Sophie answered my questions – and showed me how to frost cupcakes.
This is what I asked her:
- What is it like running a cupcake shop?
- What is your favorite cupcake flavor?
- What have you learned running a business?
- Why do you think Georgetown Cupcakes is so popular and known all over the world?
- What is the most popular flavor of cupcake that you sell?
- Who taught you how to bake?
- Can you share a piece of advice that might help me?
- AND…can you teach me how to frost cupcakes?
