BOISE — Tammy Douglas Daybell would have turned 53 years old on Thursday. The mother of five was born May 4, 1970 and died in her Salem home on Oct. 19, 2019.

While the country is focused on the murder trial surrounding her death, Daybell’s family is inviting people from around the world to honor her through the Tammy Douglas Daybell Foundation.

The Foundation was established on the first anniversary of Daybell’s passing to honor her life and legacy. The purpose is to assist libraries and support literacy programs in Utah and Idaho.

EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton spoke with Brooke Douglas Unti, Daybell’s niece who serves as the foundation’s media director. She explained how people can get involved and what the non-profit hopes to accomplish this year.
