UPDATE

According to an Idaho State Police news release, a 37-year-old woman from Idaho Falls was driving a 2018 Oshkosh Cement Mixer when she lost control near mile marker 94 on Interstate 15.

The release states the driver overcorrected after the mixer went off the right shoulder and rolled onto its side. Over 10 yards of concrete spilled onto the road.

The driver was wearing her seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital. Her condition is unknown. Crews are still working to clear the scene, and the southbound lane is still blocked as of 2:30 p.m. Friday.

BINGHAM COUNTY — A cement truck flipped on its side on southbound Interstate 15 near Blackfoot on Friday, blocking traffic. Authorities are asking motorists to use an alternative route for the next several hours.

According to a Facebook post by the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened after 9:30 a.m. near Exit 93 to Blackfoot/Aberdeen.

Sheriff’s deputies and Idaho State Police troopers are on the scene trying to clear the incident.

Authorities recommend drivers use the Firth off-ramp as the alternative route.

No information has been published on the driver’s status or an estimate on when the southbound lane will reopen.
