Stroke awareness is the topic of this month’s Riverbend Awareness Project

According to the American Stroke Association, about 1.9 million brain cells die every minute a stroke goes untreated. Because a quick response is so crucial knowing the signs of a stroke are equally important.
Jarvie reviewed the BE FAST acronym that can help everyone identify stroke symptoms. BE FAST stands for Balance, Eyes, Face, Arms, Speech, and Time.
Along with recognizing and treating strokes, the podcast discusses recovery, both physically and mentally, and talks about the founding of the local Eastern Idaho Stroke Support Group. This group meets at 5 pm on the second Tuesday of each month.
