EASTERN IDAHO — Before the 2024-25 season, the Pocatello girls basketball program had never won a state championship. Two years later, they have done so twice behind the now back-to-back All-State Player of the Year Abby Lusk.

The senior was among the state’s leaders in points per game, rebounds per game and double-doubles, averaging a double-double with 20.4 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Lusk is joined by a pair of District 6 standouts in junior Kaia Kesler, from Hillcrest, and freshman Oakley Talbot, from Blackfoot.

The All-State teams are voted on by the coaches from each classification and compiled by the Idaho Statesman.

Here are the 5A girls’ selections:

Player of the Year: Abby Lusk, Pocatello — 20.4 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game, 3.1 assists per game, 2.8 steals per game, 1.1 blocks per game

Coach of the Year: Sunny Evans, Pocatello

First-Team:
Brecken Mire, Sandpoint
Lexi Longhurst, Mountain Home
Kaia Kesler, Hillcrest — 17.0 points per game, 4.3 assists per game, 3.4 rebounds per game
Karstyn Kiefer, Lakeland

Second-Team:
Jocelyn Lloyd, Burley
Oakley Talbot, Blackfoot — 14.7 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game, 1.4 steals per game
Jordyn Tomco, Sandpoint
Adalynn Olmos, Burley
Juli Donez, Mountain Home
