It’s a Feedin’ Frenzy at Camille’s Crepes at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

BLACKFOOT — It’s that time of year again: Feedin’ Frenzy at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, and it was my pleasure to stop by Camille’s Crepes for a taste of two of their crepe dishes served up by the owner, Camille Gilbert.

Gilbert’s passion for her creations was obvious, and after sampling them, I can see why.

First up was the award-winning Peachy Keen. Gilbert explained that the dessert starts with a freshly made crepe cut into long strips, which she calls “Crepe-a-ghetti,” and placed in a bowl.

Fresh peaches, chopped the day before and soaked in passion fruit juice, are piled on top, followed by a drizzle of sweet cream and topped with whipped cream.

As a peach lover, I can tell you this one did not disappoint. What a treat!

Next, I sampled a special dessert created in honor of America250 called the Sweet76. It features a red velvet crepe filled with white chocolate and topped with blueberries and whipped cream. There was a taste of everything in each bite.

Camille’s Crepes has been serving fairgoers at the Eastern Idaho State Fair for eight years. Gilbert describes her creations as fresh, light and delicious.

“We like to say, ‘you still like yourself after eating our food,’” she said.
