Charges dismissed against local man accused of kidnapping and battery

POCATELLO — Charges have been dismissed in a 2023 case in which a local man was accused of kidnapping.
Seth Farell Williams was charged with felony aggravated battery and second-degree kidnapping in September 2023. His fiancée recently reached out to EastIdahoNews.com to inform us that the charges were dismissed.
EastIdahoNews.com reached out to Bannock County Courts and verified that the charges were indeed dismissed in January 2025, following a motion to dismiss filed on Jan. 29.
Williams’ fiancée provided EastIdahoNews.com with the following statement: “Seth Williams was wrongly accused and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, but has been exonerated, and he’s not the monster that Idaho believes him out to be. He has struggled for employment this whole time and has been looked at with hate in people’s eyes when they see him. … We just want everyone to know that he’s not that man.”
Williams also provided a short statement, saying, “I’m a good member of the society, and I’m not a threat to the community at all.”
