Idaho 15-year-old arrested, charged with murder after shooting death

CALDWELL (Idaho Statesman) — The Caldwell Police Department announced the arrest of a teenager related to a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in the 1600 block of South Kimball Avenue.
A 15-year-old male was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of 21-year-old Diego Sanchez-Marin, according to a Caldwell police press release. He has been booked into the Southwest Idaho Juvenile Detention Center.
Sanchez-Marin died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Ada County Coroner’s Office. The suspect’s name was not released.
Based on information provided by witnesses, investigators were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle using an Automated License Plate Reader, which in turn helped investigators identify the suspect, the release said.
Investigators then worked with the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to obtain an arrest warrant, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the release.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, and additional charges and arrests are possible, the release said.
