AMERICAN FALLS — Life can be messy, unpredictable and downright overwhelming. But American Falls resident Tammy Ramsey believes you can find beauty even in the most chaotic moments.

That philosophy is the inspiration behind “Beautiful Chaos,” a podcast Ramsey created to explore the ups and downs of everyday life through honest conversations, personal experiences, humor and a little inspiration along the way.

From marriage and parenting to aging, relationships, health and personal growth, the podcast tackles subjects that resonate with people navigating life’s many challenges and changes.

Ramsey, a health coach, poet and playwright, launched the podcast in 2025, bringing her own perspectives and life experiences to conversations about the challenges and rewards of being human.

“The idea hit me in the middle of the night,” Ramsey said. “By the next morning, I already had 22 ideas for shows.”

She was thrilled when her friend and fellow community organizer, Staci Miller, agreed to join her as co-host, bringing another voice and perspective to the podcast.

Ramsey wrote the podcast’s opening jingle, featuring local singer Jordan Bowman and her father, pianist David Bowman.

She later turned what was once her son’s bedroom, then an office, into a recording studio, where she taught herself to edit and produce the podcast.

The podcast also features interviews with guests from a variety of professional and personal backgrounds, offering listeners insights into everything from emotional resilience to maintaining healthy relationships.

“People are reaching out about sponsoring the podcast and appearing as guests,” Ramsey said. “I feel like it’s God dropping things in my lap.”

Recent episodes have included conversations with Emmy-winning journalist Renee Lee about motherhood, resilience and starting over, and Dr. Melanie Icard about the effects of stress on heart health.

Other episodes have explored burnout, marriage, healthy aging and the importance of discovering one’s purpose.

For Ramsey, who is married to a farmer and rancher and has three children and 11 grandchildren, the podcast is another way to connect with people and encourage them to embrace life’s experiences, both good and bad.

From community events to conversations

Ramsey and Miller are no strangers to bringing people together.

The two women co-founded Music in the Park, a popular American Falls community initiative that began with free summer concerts and has since expanded to include annual Fourth of July and Christmas celebrations.

Their involvement extends beyond entertainment. Through Music in the Park, the organization also awards four $500 scholarships annually to local students.

Miller, an Idaho State University graduate and full-time 911 dispatcher, shares Ramsey’s passion for community involvement and giving back.

That same desire to connect with and encourage others carries over into their podcast, where the women discuss relatable issues while sharing personal stories, advice and occasional laughter.

A national podcast competition

Ramsey’s passion for podcasting has also led her to participate in the national “Top Host” competition, which offers aspiring and established hosts an opportunity to expand their reach.

As of Oct. 30, Ramsey said she had advanced to the top 10 and ranked fourth in her group in the competition, which features radio and television personality Ryan Seacrest and iHeartRadio.

The winner will receive $25,000, a six-episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio and a guest appearance on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.”

Voting in the current round continues through Thursday, when the field will narrow to the top five contestants in each group.

The competition also raises funds for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which establishes fully equipped broadcast and multimedia studios in pediatric hospitals.

The studios give hospitalized children and their families opportunities to create content, participate in broadcasts, record podcasts and enjoy creative activities during treatment.

Ramsey said the foundation’s mission is particularly meaningful because it gives children opportunities to learn, have fun and express themselves despite difficult circumstances.

But should she win the $25,000 prize, Ramsey already has plans for how she would use a significant portion of the money.

She hopes to share some of the winnings with Miller and establish three $5,000 scholarships for high school students pursuing their dreams.

“I want to be a dream maker and help young people achieve their dreams,” she said.

The idea came after Ramsey attended a national FFA convention with her granddaughter last year.

She said she was impressed by the students’ leadership abilities, public speaking skills and work ethic, but was troubled to learn that some lacked the financial resources to continue their education.

The experience inspired her to consider establishing larger scholarships that could help students pursue college, vocational training or other educational opportunities.

Her goal, she said, is to help young people who have the motivation and ability to succeed but may lack the financial means to pursue their ambitions.

Finding purpose in the chaos

Whether through community celebrations, scholarships or conversations behind a microphone, Ramsey’s efforts share a common thread: encouraging people to connect, grow and pursue what matters to them.

She has also begun sharing details of a memoir project titled “Why Not Me,” reflecting another aspect of her interest in storytelling and personal growth.

As “Beautiful Chaos” continues to develop, Ramsey hopes listeners will recognize that life’s difficulties and unexpected turns don’t have to define them.

Instead, the podcast encourages people to find meaning, humor and gratitude in whatever chapter of life they happen to be experiencing.

“I want to be able to help people,” Ramsey said. “If someone can take one nugget or have one ‘A-ha’ moment that makes them think about something different, it’s worth it.”

“Beautiful Chaos” is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other major podcast platforms.
