BYU-Idaho Student Drowns in Snake River
Published at | Updated at(REXBURG, ID) – A BYU-Idaho student drowned while kayaking on the Snake River over the weekend.
Authorities say 26-year-old Scott Hart was kayaking with his wife and two friends in the Lorenzo area on Saturday when his two-person kayak was swept into a tree. Hart became trapped beneath the kayak and was unable to surface. His wife, Marcia, was able to make it to shore.
All four people were wearing life jackets. Efforts to revive the victim were unsuccessful.
