Blue Jackets Agree to Contract with Center Ryan Johansen
Published at(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — The Columbus Blue Jackets and center Ryan Johansen agreed to a three-year contract on Monday, worth $12 million. He will receive $3 million in each of the first two seasons followed by $6 million in the final year of the deal.
The Blue Jackets selected Johansen with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft. In 189 regular season games with Columbus, he has scored 47 goals and recorded 49 assists for 96 points.
Last season, Johansen had a team-high 33 goals as the Blue Jackets finished 43-32-7 for 93 points. In the post-season, they lost in six-games to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals.
