Campaign Signs Stolen in Pocatello
Published at | Updated at(POCATELLO, ID) – Campaign signs are up all around eastern Idaho, and so are sign thefts. KPVI reports that those caught stealing signs usually face misdemeanor citations, but could be charged with felonies if the thefts are serious enough.
Bannock County Clerk Robert Poleki has lost at least five signs already, resulting in two people being cited. State House candidate Matt Bloxham says even small signs can cost more than $20 apiece.
Elections officials say alleged thefts should be reported to police immediately. They’re also reminding candidates to keep their signs off of public property.
