Hackers Threaten Safety of Sony Pictures Employees’ Families
Published at | Updated at(LOS ANGELES) — Hackers who have been wreaking havoc at Sony Pictures are now threatening the safety of employees’ families.
A source within Sony confirmed to ABC News on Friday that some Sony Pictures employees received an email said to be from the hacker group “Guardians of Peace,” threatening that their families will be in danger if they don’t sign an email denouncing Sony.
Employees have reportedly been told by the company to turn off their mobile devices.
The same hacker group is believed to be responsible for leaking some of Sony’s unreleased films, along with private payroll information.
