Chobani Expanding Yogurt Plant
Published at(TWIN FALLS, ID) – The city of Twin Falls has signed off on a plan for a $3.5 million expansion to the Chobani yogurt plant. Officials say there’s room for expansion when the facility produces more than a million cases of yogurt each week. The project will feature renovations to the packaging and filling rooms on the east side. The company has been at odds with some Idaho politicians in recent months, however. Chobani’s founder, Hamdi Ulukaya, unsuccessfully lobbied against the controversial “ag gag” bill, which Gov. Butch Otter signed into law last week.
