Sources: Jets’ Schottenheimer Out, Sparano In
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Jets announced that offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer won’t return in 2012.
League and team sources told ESPN’s senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen late on Tuesday night that the Jets have had former Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano as their top choice to replace Schottenheimer in the event of a vacancy.
Schottenheimer interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coaching job but they hired Mike Mularkey instead on Tuesday.
The sources say the Jets are expected to announce Sparano’s hiring today.
