Giants Headed to Green Bay, Beat Falcons, 24-2
Published at(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — The New York Giants defense came up big on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
They shut out the Atlanta Falcons offense and are headed to Green Bay to take on the Packers after Sunday’s 24-2 win over Atlanta.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning provided all the offense New York would need with three touchdown passes. The biggest one coming in the third quarter to Hakeem Nicks for a 72-yard touchdown connection that broke the game open.
“We’re not trying to force things to a certain guy,” said Manning. “If they want to try and take away Victor (Cruz) that’s fine. That’s why we have Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham, these guys are play makers.”
It was the first playoff win for the Giants since they upset the undefeated New England Patriots in the Super Bowl four years ago.
