“The Muppets”: Kermit Says He’s Just Friends with Denise

Disney Junior/Rick Rowell(LOS ANGELES) — Kermit the Frog has moved on.
Photos of the Muppets star with his new girlfriend, Denise, were released Tuesday.
“The word is out: Kermit is seeing Denise,” read a tweet from the Muppets Twitter account. “We’re bracing for Miss Piggy’s forthcoming wrath.”
However, Kermit subsequently tweeted, “While I prefer to keep my personal life private, this is Hollywood, so who am I kidding? It is true that I am dating again. However, at this time no one woman-–pig or otherwise-–is my official ‘new girlfriend.’ We are simply close friends.”
Kermit and Miss Piggy announced in August that they were ending their relationship. The two will, however, work together on the ABC series The Muppets, which premieres September 22.
“Our personal lives,” they said in a statement at the time, “are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al.”
Miss Piggy isn’t sitting around sulking, however. On Monday, The Hunger Games‘ Liam Hemsworth shared a photo of himself with her, calling Miss Piggy “the most beautiful girl in the world.”
“Loved @LiamHemsworth, our latest guest coming to #TheMuppets,” she added on her Twitter page. “Although, I had to explain that hunger is NEVER a game!”
