Political Podcast – Dennis Emery: Legally blind, but sees changes are needed

  Published at  | Updated at

Name: Dennis Emery

City: Idaho Falls

Seat: City Council, seat 5

Dennis Emery may be legally blind but he sees several changes that are necessary in the Idaho Falls city government.

Emery has been involved in numerous committees and organizations to help the blind, seniors, handicapped and others, including the mayor’s commission for the blind.

Term limits is an issue that Emery is passionate about and would like to see become a part of local government.

He also favors changing to six districts in the city instead of the current council seats. He believes they will better represent the changing demographics.

Emery contends that the tax increases of the past two years are excessive and would vote to find areas to cut the budget rather than asking the taxpayers for more.
