Knicks To Be Without Stoudemire For 2-4 Weeks
Published at(GREENBURGH, N.Y.) — The New York Knicks will be without All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire for approximately two to four weeks, as he undergoes a non-surgical treatment for a bulging disk in his lower back, the team announced Wednesday.
“He’s a big piece to the puzzle,” Knicks interim head coach Mike Woodson said. “I want him to be healthy when he comes back and not come back trying to play hurt. That’s the most important thing.”
The 29-year-old Stoudemire injured his back during last season’s first-round playoff series against Boston. He is averaging 17.6 points per game this season.
