Clippers Defeat Grizzlies in OT, 101-97
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored eight of his 27 points in overtime, as the Clippers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 101-97, to take a 3-1 series lead.
“Chris is always intense,” Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. “That’s what makes him special. Chris is so good, not only at making plays for himself, but making the right play. That’s what makes him a star.”
The Clippers had a 84-74 lead with 4:31 left in the game, but the Grizzlies went on a 13-3 run to finish out the fourth quarter and send the game into overtime.
Mike Conley led Memphis with 25 points and eight assists.
If the Clippers are able to win this series, it will be only their second playoff series victory in 36 years.
Game 5 takes place Wednesday night at 9:30 PM ET in Memphis.
