ISP responds to 5 crashes at the same time near the Idaho/Oregon border

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

PAYETTE COUNTY — On Dec. 15, at 8:44 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated five crashes on I-84 in Payette County. Details are as follows:

– A single vehicle crash eastbound I-84 at mile marker 13.5:

o Nicholas D. Clem, 32, of Nampa, ID, was driving a 2002 Ford F250 pulling a car dolly. He was not transported.

– A single vehicle crash eastbound I-84 at mile marker 13:

o Frederick J. Nungaray, 60, of Ontario, OR, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Frederick and his passenger Sylvia Nungaray, 62, also from Ontario, OR, was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

– A multi-vehicle crash westbound on I-84 at mile marker 6:

o A New Plymouth Quick Response Unit was involved and the driver was transported to St. Luke?s in Fruitland.
o Marissa E. Bradsher, 36, of Nampa, ID, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Ontario, OR.
o Kolby D. Fuller, 26, of Meridian, ID, was driving a 2005 Ford F350 pulling a trailer. He was not transported.
o Kyle Ward, approximate age 20, was driving a 2002 Subaru Legacy. He was transported to Saint Luke?s in Fruitland, ID.

– A two-vehicle crash westbound I-84 at mile marker 6.2:

o Jaafar K. Jaafar, 38, of Boise, ID, was driving a 2012 GMC van. He and his passenger Maher Mahmood, 51, of Boise, ID were not transported.
o Helena E. M. Gilbert, 45, of Caldwell, ID, was driving a 2018 Kia Soul. She was not transported.

– A single-vehicle crash eastbound I84 at mile marker 6:

o Benjamin A. Smith, 20, of Payette, ID, was driving a 1992 Toyota van. He was transported to St. Luke’s in Fruitland, ID.

The westbound lanes of I84 were blocked for approximately two and half hours. These crashes are under investigation by The Idaho State Police.
