Hollywood Producer of “Jaws” and “Dark Shadows” Dies
Published at(NEW YORK) — Hollywood producer Richard R. Zanuck, whose movies racked up more than $2 billion in revenue, died of a heart attack Friday at the age of 77, reports the New York Times.
Zanuck’s credits include 1988’s Driving Miss Daisy, which won an Academy Award as best picture, and Steven Spielberg’s 1975 Jaws. In a statement, Spielberg said Zanuck, “taught me everything I know about producing.”
Richard Zanuck also produced six movies directed by Tim Burton, including his most recent, Dark Shadows. Richard Zanuck was the son of legendary Hollywood producer Darryl F. Zanuck.
