Yankees Name Andy Pettitte Game 2 ALDS Starter
Published at(BALTIMORE) — The New York Yankees will turn to veteran left-hander Andy Pettitte for Game 2 of their American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles.
In 12 starts this season, the 40-year-old Pettitte went 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA. He struck out 69 batters in 75 1-3 innings of work.
The three-time All-Star missed nearly three months of action this year after suffering a broken ankle during a game against the Cleveland Indians.
Pettitte is 19-10 with a 3.83 ERA in 42 postseason starts.
