76ers’ Center Andrew Reinjures Knee After Bowling
Published at(PHILADELPHIA) — Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum never thought that bowling could reaggravate his knee injury that he’s still recovering from, but that’s exactly what happened.
Bynum went bowling last Saturday and felt his left knee swell following the activity. An MRI revealed that Bynum had in fact inflicted more damage on his injured knee. This had even come after the team announced that Bynum might not be able to suit up for the team for another two months.
“I don’t think anybody couldn’t of told (me) I couldn’t do that,” Bynum said. “I was doing squatting and low-impact training. It is what it is. The cartilage is in a weakened state.”
While he was never told directly to not go bowling, Bynum realized its may not have been the best idea.
“Obviously in hindsight you shouldn’t go bowling, but it’s not more than anything I’ve done in rehab.”
The 25-year-old Bynum has yet to even practice with the Sixers this season, who was acquired by the team over the offseason from the Los Angeles Lakers.
