John Tavares Leads Islanders Over Devils
Published at(UNIONDALE, NY) — John Tavares had a sensational game to lead the New York Islanders over the New Jersey Devils 5-1 on Saturday night.
Tavares scored three goals and assisted on another for the Islanders, (6-7-1, 13 pts) who never trailed in this game.
Matt Moulson chipped in with one goal and three assists, while Evgeni Nabokov stopped 30 shots. The Islanders also knocked off the New York Rangers 4-3 in a shootout on Thursday.
Marek Zidlicky scored the only goal of the night for the Devils, (9-3-3, 21 pts) which came in the third period.
Johan Hedberg started in goal for New Jersey, who gave Martin Brodeur the night off.
