CC Sabathia Earns 200th Career Victory
Published at(MINNEAPOLIS) — CC Sabathia loves pitching against the Minnesota Twins.
The 32-year old pitched seven strong earnings Wednesday night to help the New York Yankees defeat the Minnesota Twins 3-2 and earn his 200th career victory.
“It’s hard not to be aware of it, but I don’t know if it means anything right now,” Sabathia said. “I’ll be ready in five days to go again and just try to get No. 201.”
Sabathia has not lost to the Twins in nearly six years. He is 11-0 with a 2.01 ERA in his last 12 starts against the Twins.
Robinson Cano tied the game at 2 in the sixth inning with a two-run double. Lyle Overbay drove him home with a sacrifice fly to center field, and that was all the Yankees needed to win their third-straight game.
Sabathia is the 10th pitcher in the live ball era to reach 200 career wins before his 33rd birthday.
