Report: ‘Pakistani “Price Is Right”‘ Giving Away Babies
Published at(LONDON) — In an effort to win what appears to be the equivalent of TV “Sweeps Week” in Pakistan, a popular game show is giving away babies to childless couples in a Ramadan ratings stunt.
According to The Sun, the program Amaan Ramazan — colloquially referred to as “the Islamic Price is Right” — usually gives away prizes like appliances or electronics. However, the paper reports host Aamir Liaquat Hussain recently gave away something more: two babies to two couples who couldn’t conceive.
The babies had been found abandoned in the streets by a child welfare organization and were presented to couples who agreed to adopt them.
