Chiefs Sign No. 1 Overall Pick Eric Fisher
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Kansas City Chiefs announced Friday that they’ve signed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft Eric Fisher.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter the deal is for five-years.
The contract will fetch Fisher a $14.5 million signing bonus and is worth $22.2 million overall, according to ESPN’s Andrew Brandt.
The 6-foot-8, 305 pound offensive tackle out of Central Michigan is expected to start at right tackle for the Chiefs with veteran Branden Albert locking up the left side.
Since the 1970 merger of the NFL and AFL, only three offensive tackles have ever been selected with the No. 1 overall pick. Orlando Pace was first in 1997, followed by Jake Long in 2008 and now Fisher.
