A hole-in-one for your appetite at Bogey Cafe
Published at | Updated atBLACKFOOT — As a new reporter for EastIdahoNews.com, I took my first swing at an “East Idaho Eats” feature with a visit to Bogey Cafe inside the clubhouse, right on the beautiful Blackfoot Golf Course.
I’d heard about Bogey Cafe from some of my Blackfoot friends and wanted to see what all the buzz was about, especially with the cafe’s reputation for great burgers.
I was lucky to be joined by Renee Hafer, a friendly employee who does “a little bit of everything” at the cafe and was kind enough to be my taste-testing sidekick.
First up, appetizers: two types of snackable, popper-style mac and cheese bites — one with smoked Gouda and the other with pepper jack — served with a lineup of sauces perfect for dunking. I’d never had anything quite like them. So good! One of those things you can’t stop eating! But beware! They’re extremely hot to bite into when they first come out.

Then came the Bogey Burger. It’s a local favorite for good reason. We’re talking bacon, ham, two kinds of cheese, lettuce and tomato stacked high on a juicy hamburger patty. Lots of napkins required!
When a craving for a good hot dog strikes, the cafe also serves up big, 100% beef dogs with all the best toppings.

And, as is par for the course with any meal, there are plenty of cold beverages to choose from, including a variety of beers.

You don’t need golf clubs to enjoy a meal at Bogey Cafe. Whether wrapping up a round of golf or simply seeking a nice meal with scenic views, Bogey Cafe welcomes golfers and the general public for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Dine in or take out.
