Man dies in fiery crash near Bliss

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.
BLISS — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12:43 p.m. on Wednesday on I-84 at approximately milepost 141, east of Bliss.
A 69-year-old male from Ogden, Utah, was traveling westbound I-84 in a 2019 Nissan Frontier pulling a cargo trailer. The Nissan crossed the median and struck a semi-truck pulling a 2020 utility trailer driven by a 43-year-old male from Ozone Park, New York, with a 23-year-old male passenger from Indianapolis, Indiana. Both vehicles caught on fire.
The driver of the Nissan succumbed to his injuries at scene. It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver and passenger of the semi-truck were wearing seatbelts and were not transported.
The lanes of I-84 were blocked for approximately six hours to allow emergency personnel to assist those involved and clear the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
